Wild Trout fishing is what the Eastern Cape Highlands is renowned for among those who pursue this skilful sport. Kilometres of pristine rivers such as the Bell River, Bokspruit, Riflespruit, Sterkspruit, Langkloofspruit, Diepspruit, Vlooikraalspruit, Saalboomspruit, Joggemspruit, Kloppershoekspruit and Karringmelkspruit winds through gorges towards the Kraai and Orange Rivers.
These rivers offer excellent opportunities to the Rainbow Trout and Yellowfish enthusiasts. Fishing season is from September to April and it is strictly “Catch and Release”. All year round fishing is allowed at the Kraai River and it is preferred that you catch and release.
